This is a guide to resources on sex and gender, including reference works, online databases and journals, and books available at Nash Library.
Because these topics can be examined in many different contexts, it is likely your topic encompasses some other area of subject area(s), such as History, Sociology, Political Science, or Education. If this is the case, look at the subject guides for those topics too, and consider browsing through the library stacks or through databases on those topics. In order to study the impact of gender in a particular field, it is important to have a general knowledge of that field.
This guide is organized in tabs according to source type. The References tab includes links to print and online reference sources. The Journal Articles tab includes links to databases and academic journals. The Books tab explains how to find materials on sex and gender in the library using call numbers and subject headings. The Demographics and Statistics Online page includes links to free government-maintained statistical resources.
This is a quick introduction to the library's search tools. They are always located in the dark green ribbon at the top of library pages.
